Connell Maynor off to Hampton university smh. Ain't mad atcha tho. Thank You!

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.
Winston-Salem State head football coach Connell Maynor is leaving the school after four seasons. Hampton University in Virginia announced just before 1 p.m. Tuesday they've hired Maynor as their 20th head football coach. Hampton plays football in the MEAC, a Division I FCS conference. In a news conference Tuesday afternoon, Maynor said leaving WSSU was one of the toughest decisions he's ever made. WSSU officials said there would be a nationwide search for Maynor's replacement. Maynor was hired in December 2009 and replaced Kermit Blount, who held the position for 17 years. Maynor had a 45-6 record and took the Rams to three straight NCAA tournament appearances, including the 2012 national championship game. Under Maynor, WSSU has won two straight CIAA championships and was set to appear again this year until the game was canceled due to a fight during the championship banquet. As a player, Maynor led WSSU to a CIAA title in 1987 and led North Carolina A&T to a MEAC title in 1991.
