GREENSBORO, N.C. —A lockdown at North Carolina A&T State University has been lifted following a shooting Saturday.
School officials said one student, identified as Divine Eastman, 21, was hurt. He was hospitalized with serious but not life-threatening injuries, police said.

Officers determined that one or more subjects discharged firearms in a grassy area near McCain Hall on the campus around 10:40 p.m. The victim, who was a considerable distance from the suspects, was struck by one round.

The lockdown was lifted around 11:20 p.m. because witnesses said they saw the suspects leave campus.

The suspects were described as four black males, three of which had dreadlocks. They were armed with handguns of unknown type, investigators said.

Police will maintain a presence on campus throughout the night.
